The second edition of an interdisciplinary conference on the diagnosis and treatment of colorectal cancer, continuing the previous year’s “Nowoczesna Pracownia Endoskopowa” event. The conference took place on 6 December 2025 at the University Clinical Centre (UCK) in Gdańsk, organized by the Department of Oncological, Transplant and General Surgery of UCK and GUMed.
The patient pathway within the Krajowa Sieć Onkologiczna, current oncological treatment standards, and the role of nutritional therapy in colorectal cancer care.
Colonoscopy quality, endoscopic resection techniques, stenting and negative-pressure therapy, and the role of endoscopy nursing.
Stoma care, perioperative management, surgical techniques, robotic surgery nursing, non-operative rectal cancer strategies, and colorectal cancer in younger patients.
The conference gathered more than 100 participants across a wide range of professional groups — physicians (surgeons, gastroenterologists, oncologists), endoscopy nurses, medical students, dietitians, coordinators, sterilization technicians, and administrative staff. This interdisciplinary audience reflected the event’s core idea: colorectal cancer as a challenge requiring coordinated action across the entire care team, from prevention and diagnosis through surgical treatment to perioperative and nutritional care.
Sessions covered the current state of the Krajowa Sieć Onkologiczna, epidemiological trends including rising incidence in younger age groups, systemic treatment standards, endoscopic quality and safety, perioperative surgical care, and clinical nutrition as part of oncological treatment. Organizers announced plans to continue the initiative in future editions.
